<p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nabataeans">Набатейци</a> беше едно племе, който стана мръсна богата на търговията на тамян, смирна, и подправки в Арабския полуостров преди около 2000 години. Те построили Петра като столица на тяхната процъфтяваща цивилизация. Натрапчиво красиви каменни фасади, стоящи сто метрови са удивително непокътнати и добре запазени и до днес.</p>

<p>Еволюционен биолог J. B. S. Haldane веднъж каза, че “Вселената е не само странна отколкото си предположим, но странна отколкото <em>можем</em> да си предположим,” намеквайки за факта, че физическите науки често повдигат повече въпроси, отколкото те да отговорят, оставяйки ни чесане главите ни. След посещение на Петра бях поразен с подобно усещане, че Петра е не само по-величествено, отколкото си предположим, но величествено отколкото <em>можем</em> да си предположим. Какво не бих дал да съм го виждал в своя път!</p>
