<p>لَقَد أَدَّى مَوْقِعُ الأُرْدُنّ الجُغْرَافي في (الشَّرْقِ الأَدْنى) إلى تَعْرِيض البِلاد إِلى عَشَرَاتِ الحَضَاراتِ عَبْرَ التَّارِيخ.</p>
|

<p>خِلالَ الثَّلاثَةِ آلافِ سَنَة الماضِيَة وَحْدَهَا شَهِدَتْ هذه المِنْطَقَة قُدُوم الإِمْبراطُورِيَّات الفَارِسيَّة واليُونانِيَّة والرُّومانِيَّة والنَّبَطِيَّة والبِيزَنْطِيَّة والعُثْمَانِيَّة، وذَلِكَ على سَبِيلِ الِمثَالِ لا الحَصْر، الَّتِي لا يَزَالُ تُراثها ظاهِراً حَتَّى اليوم.</p>
|
||
<p>الآثارُ في مَدِينةِ جرش هي واحِدَة من تِلكَ المَوْرُوثات. كَامِلة بالأَقْواسِ، والأَعْمِدَةِ، ومِضْمَار سِبَاقِ الخَيْلِ، والحَمَّامَاتِ، والمَسَارِح، والمَعابِد وغيرها، تُعَدُّ جرش مِن أَكْثَرِ المواقِع اليُونانيّة الرُّومانِيَّة الّتي تَمَّ الحِفَاظُ عليها بِشَكْلٍ جَيِّد.</p>
