<p>قَدْ تَنْسَى نَفْسَكَ بِسُهُولَة — حَرْفِيّاً ومَجَازِيّاً — في الرِّمَال الحَمْرَاءِ التي لا نِهايَة لها، ونَاطِحات السَّحَاب الشَّاهِقَة في وادِي رَم. إنّ هذا المكان المَهِيب، المَعْرُوف لَدَى الإِغْريق والرُّومان، كان مَأْهُولاً بالسُّكَّان مُنذ آلافِ السِّنِين، وهو لا يُشْبِهُ أيّ مَكَان آخَر على الأَرْض. ولَقَدْ ظَهَرت تِلك المَناظِر الطَّبِيعيَّة الفَرِيدَة في مَجْمُوعة من أفلام هوليود، مِثْل <a href="https://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%84%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%86%D8%B3_%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A8_(%D9%81%D9%8A%D9%84%D9%85)"><em>فيلم لورانس العرب</em></a> و <a href="https://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%AE%D9%8A_(%D9%81%D9%8A%D9%84%D9%85)"><em>فيلم ذا مارشين</em></a> (المريخيّ).</p>
