<p>لَقَد أَدَّى مَوْقِعُ الأُرْدُنّ الجُغْرَافي في (الشَّرْقِ الأَدْنى) إلى تَعْرِيض البِلاد إِلى عَشَرَاتِ الحَضَاراتِ عَبْرَ التَّارِيخ.</p>
<p>خِلالَ الثَّلاثَةِ آلافِ سَنَة الماضِيَة وَحْدَهَا شَهِدَتْ هذه المِنْطَقَة قُدُوم الإِمْبراطُورِيَّات الفَارِسيَّة واليُونانِيَّة والرُّومانِيَّة والنَّبَطِيَّة والبِيزَنْطِيَّة والعُثْمَانِيَّة، وذَلِكَ على سَبِيلِ الِمثَالِ لا الحَصْر، الَّتِي لا يَزَالُ تُراثها ظاهِراً حَتَّى اليوم.</p>
<p>الآثارُ في مَدِينةِ جرش هي واحِدَة من تِلكَ المَوْرُوثات. المدينةُ بِأَسْرِهَا مع الأَقْواسِ، والأَعْمِدَةِ، ومِضْمَار سِبَاقِ الخَيْلِ، والحَمَّامَاتِ، والمَسَارِح، والمَعابِد وغيرها، مَدِينةُ جرش هي مِن أَكْثَرِ المواقِع اليُونانيّة الرُّومانِيَّة الّتي تَمَّ الحِفَاظُ عليها بِشَكْلٍ جَيِّد.</p>

<p>أنت لَمْ تعِشْ بَعْد إلى أَنْ تَأْكُلَ أنت وأصْدِقاؤُك سَبْعَةَ عَشْرَ لْوْنًا مُختلفًا من الأَرُز واللُّحُوم والصَلْصَات وأنتُم جَالِسُون على الأرض في مَطْعَم باب اليَمَن في عَمَّان.</p>
<p>وإذا أَرَدْتَ أن تَسِيرَ على تَجْرِبَتِي، فكلُّ طبَق على قائِمَة الطَّعَام بِبَسَاطَة لَذِيذ - بِمَا في ذَلِكَ الخُبز المُسَطَّح الكَبِير المُوشَّح بالنَّار الذي سيَكُون رائِعاً عندما تَرَاهُ كيف يُصْنَع بِنَفْسِ الرَّوْعَة عندما تَأْكُلُهُ.</p>
